Jason D. McNeal, Ph.D.

With over a decade of institutional advancement and higher education administrative leadership, Jason D. McNeal joined GGTS in 2008. He serves as consultant to colleges, universities, schools, hospitals, and other non-profit organizations nationally, providing counsel in the areas of major gifts, capital campaigns, planned giving, annual fund, board development, strategic planning, public relations, integrated marketing, admissions, financial aid, and coaching for chief executive officers.

Prior to joining the firm, Jason served as Vice President for Advancement and Community Relations for Maryville College (TN), where he led a highly successful advancement program and directed the $83 million "Our Window of Opportunity" Campaign. He also oversaw integrated marketing and church relations efforts, implemented the 'Calvin Duncan Society,' one of the first lifelong annual giving societies at any institution in the country, and created a performance metrics system to evaluate and measure advancement professionals. While at Maryville, Jason also held the positions of Vice President for Development, Assistant Vice President for Development and Alumni Affairs, and Director of Annual Giving.

Before his service at Maryville College, Jason served as Director for Advancement at East Georgia College, a two-year University System of Georgia institution. During his tenure, the institution strengthened regional business relationships through an integrated annual community fundraising and marketing campaign.

Jason earned the Bachelor of Arts degree in history and education from Salisbury University (MD).  In addition, he has earned a Masters of Arts degree in education, a Masters of Science in human ecology, and the Ph.D. in higher education administration, all from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville. In 2004, he completed Harvard University's Higher Education Management Development Program.

Jason has presented on advancement topics nationally for Academic Impressions, the Council for the Advancement and Support for Education (CASE), and the Tennessee Advancement Resources Council (TARC).
